Text Box: Finally it happened....Huntspill Crowns win the Referees Cup Since 1993, the Crowns have displayed several bits of silverware  in their cabinet, but none won in a final. Sunday 23rd August saw the Grasshoppers beaten by a resilient Huntspill side 3 - 1. The first 30 minutes saw one way traffic, with the Grasshoppers attacks broken down time and time again by a solid gold 3 man defence. But as the wind died down, Ashley Massingham took advantage and scored with the 1st Huntspill attempt on goal. In the 43rd minute the Crowns 2nd chance was converted  by Jon Kear. The 2nd half, was a different game. Neat passing and quick on the break, Crowns created several chances and when Simon Massingham scored his first goal for the club, it was entirely deserved. A penalty converted by Grasshoppers 15 minutes from time gave them hope, but the late pressure came to nothing, allowing Paul Walton to lift the cup!
